Research + Collaborations

Grounding our wildlife protection efforts with sustained science

At Power Line Sentry, we believe in protecting our natural resources, the environment, and wildlife. Our mission to reduce avian collisions and electrocutions is supported by strategic global collaborations with conservationists, scientists, and environmental organizations. These partnerships inform the design of our products and elevate our industry’s approach to sustainable, wildlife-safe energy systems.
Whether it’s saving terns in Brazil or rehabilitating raptors in Colorado, we’re proud to support organizations committed to research, advocacy, and action.

Science + collaboration = conservation that works

Every one of these organizations plays a vital role in building a future where birds can thrive alongside human infrastructure. At Power Line Sentry, we’re honored to contribute to their missions through product support, knowledge exchange, and shared commitment to wildlife protection, environmental responsibility, and grid resilience.
Together, we’re creating solutions that protect both birds and the systems we all rely on.

Aves do Mar

The CEMEM Tern Protection Project, know known as Aves do Mar focuses on protecting migratory seabirds along Brazil’s northern coast. After identifying a high number of tern collisions with local power lines, the organization worked with partners at the Aavain Power Line Interation Committee (APLIC), the US Fish and Wildlife (USFW), teh US Geologocal Survey (USGS) and local univeristies to install the Hawk Eye™ bird flight diverters and raise visibility of hard-to-see lines. The project combines public education, data collection, and grid intervention to successfully reduce bird fatalities in critical habitats by 92%.

Endangered Wildlife Trust

Power Line Sentry supports the Wildlife & Energy Programme of the Endangered Wildlife Trust, which works across Africa to mitigate the impact of electrical infrastructure on bird and animal species. Their projects include avian-safe power line design, electrocution prevention, and line marking efforts for threatened species like cranes, vultures, and storks.

International Crane Foundation

Through science, habitat protection, and policy advocacy, the International Crane Foundation works to protect all 15 crane species worldwide. Their focus on avian migration patterns and habitat encroachment complements our commitment to minimizing grid conflicts through effective line marking and collision prevention.

Rocky Mountain Raptor Program

As one of our longest-standing partners, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program leads in raptor rehabilitation, release, and public education. We collaborate to develop products that align with the behavioral traits and anatomy of large birds, using their research and insights to refine diverter visibility and perch deterrent placement.

Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance

We support Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance's efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured wildlife across the Rocky Mountain region. Their work in field response, veterinary care, and education outreach aligns with our goal of protecting birds at every stage of life and across every touchpoint with human infrastructure.

Avian Power Line Interaction Committee (APLIC)

As proud supporters of APLIC, we share in their mission to reduce avian mortality from power lines through science-based guidance, utility training, and practical standards. Their resources have helped shape best practices for avian-safe design, installation, and mitigation, and we work alongside them to further their impact industry-wide.

Powered by science, backed by innovation

Are you working on an avian conservation or wildlife protection project? At Power Line Sentry, we’re always looking to support research-driven efforts that align with our mission to reduce bird collisions, prevent electrocutions, and preserve ecosystems near electrical infrastructure. Whether you’re conducting field studies, developing new deterrent technologies, or building a conservation strategy, we’re here to collaborate, share resources, and amplify your impact. Let’s work together to turn science into solutions that save lives—avian and human alike.
