The Recloser Wildlife Protection and Monk Parakeet Nest Diverter Kit is a comprehensive design that deters animal-caused damage – including monk parakeets from building nests on electrical recloser equipment, particularly the G&W Viper Three Phase Recloser. Monk parakeet nests can lead to outages and costly damage, but this kit offers a modular, effective barrier that stops nest-building activity while ensuring system reliability and easy installation.

The kit includes a full protective enclosure using our durable clamshell-style bushing covers (part numbers BC-DO2 and BC-DO1), which tightly seal around insulators and transformer connections. This is a total wildlife protection kit – it helps prevent damage from climbing and chewing animals, including mice, rats, squirrels, etc., as well as bird nesting activity, from monk parakeets and other avian species.

All components are modular, field-installable with push pins, and can be pre-installed before equipment delivery.
